Hello! Thank you for taking the time to look through my website. I currently work as an Associate Producer for the FOX4 ‘Good Day’ morning show. I previously worked for TEGNA as a Morning Producer in Waco, Texas for KCEN-TV. My experience working in both large and smaller markets has provided me with a unique perspective on how to engage diverse audiences while building my technical skills.
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Converged Broadcast Media, a B.A. in Political Science, and a certificate in TV News Producing.
Journalism is my passion. I have been doing some form of journalism since the 7th grade. As a professional, I strive to create engaging, visually compelling, and community-driven newscasts.
I love to learn and I’m eager to take the next step in my career in one of the top markets in the nation.
Associate Producer at FOX4 - November 2023 to Present
Due to personal family reasons, my husband and I moved back to the DFW area in March of 2023. Despite efforts to immediately rejoin the news industry, I was finally able to join FOX4 in November of 2023. Since then, I have worked on our 6-hour Good Day morning show. At FOX4 I write clear, concise, and compelling stories daily while also updating rundowns and coordinating live shots. I have also regularly stepped up to fill the needs of a short-staff, whether it is covering additional hours or taking on new shifts entirely.
Morning Producer at KCEN - July 2021 to March 2023
I began my professional journalism career with TEGNA in July of 2021. Before ever arriving at the station, I was able to learn from some of the top leaders in the company through TEGNA’s Producer-in-Residence program. For two weeks, my fellow PIR’s and I were trained in ethical journalism, social media, conversational writing, and more.
Once I arrived at KCEN in Temple, I worked with our dayside producer for a few weeks before I was quickly moved to our morning show, Texas Today. For nearly 2 years, I worked on this show through a number of software changes, breaking news stories, amazing live shots, and so much more. In April of 2022, our Executive Producer took another position, which created the opportunity for me to step up and maintain the show. With the help of my team, we proudly maintained the show on our own for three-and-a-half months before the Executive Producer position was filled.
The new Executive Producer pushed me to work harder than ever before. I built creative openings, bettered my writing style, learned new ways to look at a show, and so much more. I love news, but due to some life changes, I left the station in March of 2023.
ntTV Volunteer - 2019 to 2021
I was a dedicated volunteer with North Texas Television, the award-winning student-run on-campus station, starting in the fall of 2019. There I worked multiple positions, including as Talent, Lead Editor, Technical Director, nightly news Director, Producer, Spanish Director, Digital Producer, and Executive Producer of the Spanish news show. I also worked on multiple special projects, such as election coverage shows.
In the Spring of 2020, I co-produced a show that won a Lonestar Emmy for college newscasts. Once COVID-19 hit the United States, and we were quarantined, I quickly adapted to our digital format and became one of our first ‘online report’ producers.
However, my true experience came from being the Executive Producer of our Spanish news show, Noticias. The position allowed me to learn how to independently produce a show from concept to air. In the Spring of 2021, I took the initiative to create a production binder. I held weekly meetings to further advance the skillset of my team, and provide a smooth transition for the next Executive Producer.
